More on our this week's acquired structure training:
Fuels (hay and wood pallets) are placed inside the donated home and set on fire. After a few minutes, a crew goes in an extinguishes the fire. By limiting the damage to the actual structure, we are able to repeat the training in different rooms of the house with multiple crews.
This live fire training allows Firefighters to experience fire growth and behavior, while creating attack and movement plans in a real-world situation.
Training like this prepares Firefighters to better serve and protect our community when they respond to an actual structure fire.
