Spokane Valley Fire Department HIRING FOR LATERAL FIREFIGHTER/PARAMEDIC!
Up to 20 positions may be available based on successful interview panel. Application period ends August 7th, 2022.
Requirements:
-Minimum 2 years experience as a career Firefighter/Paramedic.
-IFSAC Firefighter I, IFSAC Firefighter II, and IFSAC Hazardous Materials Operations Level certificates.
-Current Washington State Paramedic certification or National Registry Paramedic certification and the ability to obtain Spokane County Paramedic certification.
-Maintain Paramedic certification for at least 5 years from hire date.
An 8-week lateral fire academy and 2-week EMS academy is tentatively scheduled to begin October 1st.

SVFD currently staffs 10 fire stations consisting of 8 engines, 2 ladders, and 2 squads (BLS EMS unit). Ambulance transport is contracted to AMR. Department specialty teams include Special Operations (Rope Rescue/Swift Water Rescue), Rescue Task Force, Helicopter Rescue Medic, and Wildland mobilization. Work schedule is 24/48 with 14 kelly days.
SVFD serves 136,000+ citizens over 75 square miles, including the City of Spokane Valley, City of Liberty Lake, City of Millwood, and the surrounding unincorporated areas of Spokane County including Otis Orchards and Pasadena Park. SVFD responded to 22,433 calls for service in 2021.
