The Spokane Valley City Hall and the CenterPlace Regional Event Center will be closed on Monday, June 20 as staff observe the Juneteenth holiday. City offices will reopen with regular hours the following day. Juneteenth is a federal holiday in the United States commemorating the emancipation of enslaved African-Americans. Originating in Galveston, Texas, Juneteenth has been celebrated annually on June 19 in various parts of the United States. Since June 19 falls on a Sunday in 2022, the holiday will be observed on Monday, June 20.
Waste Management curbside collection will continue its normal schedule as will the Spokane Valley University Transfer Station, which is open 7:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. on Mondays. The Spokane Valley City Council and staff wish you a safe holiday.
