The Yard Waste Bins located at the City of Cheney's Recycling Center located at 100 Anderson Road will be opening for residents on Thursday, February 16th. The bins aren't typically available for residential usage this early in the year, but the recent streak of relatively mild weather conditions and above freezing temperatures are allowing staff to make them available on a conditional basis. If weather conditions worsen or temperatures drop below zero, staff will be required to pull the bins until conditions improve.
The following are acceptable yard waste materials: Leaves, grass clippings, pine cones, pine needles, weeds (except herbicide tainted material), brush, pruning and branches (no larger than two inches in diameter and four feet in length). Any bagged material must be removed from the bags prior to disposal in the yard waste boxes.
This service is available for City of Cheney residents only. If you have any questions, please contact the Public Works Department at (509) 498-9293.
