Cheney High School Principal Finalists

Cheney Public Schools is excited to announce the finalist candidates for the Cheney High School principal position. After a rigorous first round of interviews on Monday, March 21st, two excellent candidates with great experience and a passion for education are moving forward.

CHENEY HIGH SCHOOL PRINCIPAL FINALISTS

Cheney Public Schools is excited to announce the finalist candidates for the Cheney High School principal position. After a rigorous first round of interviews on Monday, March 21st, two excellent candidates with great experience and a passion for education are moving forward.  

 Mr. Keoni Dang is currently the principal of Phoenix Union-Wilson College Prep School in Phoenix, Ariz. Before his role at Phoenix Union-Wilson, Mr. Dang served as an assistant principal at Alhambra High School, Metro Tech High School, and Betty H. Fairfax High School, all in Phoenix, Ariz. Mr. Dang taught high school math prior to his work as an administrator and has been involved in college readiness programs both as a teacher and coordinator throughout his teaching and administrative career, along with experience in professional development leadership. Mr. Dang earned his bachelor's degree from Warner Pacific in Portland, Ore; he earned his Masters of Education Administration and Supervision from the University of Phoenix. 

 Mr. Brett Hale is currently an assistant principal at Mt. Spokane High School in the Mead School district. Prior to working at Mt. Spokane Mr. Hale served as an assistant principal at Rogers High School, leading both teaching and learning as well as student services departments. Mr. Hale taught high school biology in Spokane and Kennewick, Wash. before working as an administrator. Mr. Hale has been extensively involved in professional development leadership and student support programs as a teacher and administrator. He is a graduate of Eastern Washington University, obtaining his bachelor's degree. Mr. Hale also holds an MS Education degree from Walden University and Principal Certification from Eastern Washington University. 

Both candidates come highly recommended by their peers and supervisors. Cheney Public Schools congratulates both Mr. Dang and Mr. Hale and looks forward to the next stage of the interview process, including a public forum at 5:00 pm on Thursday, March 24th in the Cheney High School Auditorium. Staff and community members are invited to participate in the forum and will have an opportunity to provide written feedback after each candidate.
