Eastern Washington Eagles men’s basketball head coach Dan Monson announced on June 1 the addition of Isak Homelius to the team’s roster for the upcoming season.
Homelius, a native of Huskvarna, Sweden, comes to Eastern Washington after spending one season at Western Texas College. During his freshman year, he started in 18 games and played in a total of 26 contests. He averaged 17.3 points per game and accumulated 451 points over the season while shooting 41 percent from the field, 36 percent from three-point range, and nearly 79 percent from the free throw line.
In addition to his scoring statistics, Homelius recorded 59 rebounds, contributed 54 assists, and registered 17 steals during his freshman campaign at Western Texas College.
“We are excited to welcome Isak to Cheney,” said Dan Monson. “He’s a proven scorer who is coming off an all-conference season in one of the top JUCO leagues in the country. His shooting ability and basketball IQ will immediately translate to this level, and we feel confident he has all the intangibles to earn a big role for us.”
Homelius is expected to provide another skilled perimeter option for Eastern Washington as they continue assembling their roster for the upcoming season.
