The Liberty Lake City Council at its meeting of Feb. 21, 2023, unanimously adopted a resolution supporting efforts to revise recent state policies that have restricted vehicular pursuits by law enforcement personnel.  Resolution No. 23-243 addresses the changes that took effect in 2021 that have limited vehicle pursuits by law enforcement to only situations in which probable cause has been established, even when police may have reasonable suspicion that criminal activity has occurred or is occurring.  Bills have been proposed during the current legislative session in Olympia to revise the impact of this portion of those new statewide policies.
